Tongji SEM's overseas exchange program promotion and recruitment for the 2026-2027 academic year is now open. Except for students graduating in 2026, all current students of our school who meet the program and language requirements for overseas exchange are eligible to apply.

 

 

I. Basic Information and Application Guidelines

 

1. Program Types:

2. Eligible candidates:

Current students of SEM (excluding students graduating in 2026)

 

Please note that if students require an extension to their studies, they must apply in accordance with the relevant Graduate School and SEM regulations.

 

 

3. Partner Institutions and Selection Criteria:

 

Please contact the program manager to request the list of partner institutions.

 

Master's programs: The minimum English proficiency requirement is a TOEFL score of 79 or an IELTS score of 6.5. The minimum academic requirement is a GPA of 3.75 for undergraduate programs and 80% for postgraduate programs. Requirements for programs offered by Tongji University may vary slightly. The program overview provides details of the specific requirements for each institution.

 

4. Tuition fees:

Students are exempt from paying tuition fees at the host institution, except for additional charges levied by certain institutions. Students are responsible for covering their own international travel expenses and living costs.

 

5. Dispatch Time:

 

Master's programs: Autumn Semester 2026 / Spring Semester 2027 (see program list for details)

 

6. Exchange period:

 

Non-degree programs: one semester’s study abroad as part of a Master's program

Dual-degree programs: One year abroad for a dual-degree Master's program

Note 1: The first batch of dual degree programs only includes the ESCP dual degree program in France and dual degree programs with German institutions (EBS Business School, WFI-Ingolstadt Management School, TU Berlin, Leipzig School of Management, etc.). As applicants must complete ESCP's on-site video interview and the APS review by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in advance, those applying for these two types of programs must submit their application materials ahead of schedule. All other dual degree programs fall under the second batch. Students not admitted to first-batch programs may still apply for the second batch but must resubmit their online application and provide a signed hard copy of the updated application form to the relevant coordinator (other application materials need not be resubmitted unless amended).  

 

Note 2: If applicants are unable to submit all the required documents by the above deadlines, they must complete the online application form by the deadline and submit any additional documents within one week of the deadline. Applications submitted after this extended period will be invalid. When competing for places at the same institution, applicants who submit supplementary materials will be ranked after those who submitted complete applications by the deadline.

- Copy of Academic Transcripts (Masters‘ applicants must also provide undergraduate transcripts)

III. Application Procedure

IV. Other Relevant Matters

 

1. Following initial selection and nomination by Tongji SEM, students are generally required to submit the following materials in English to the host institution:

 

1) Curriculum Vitae in English

2) Motivation Letter in English

3) Letter of Recommendation in English

4) Academic Transcripts in English

5) TOEFL/IELTS Score Report

6) Copy of passport's main page

 

Please note: Application requirements may vary slightly between institutions, so it is important to prepare as early as possible.

 

2. APS Review Procedure for German Programs:

 

All students selected for non-degree exchange programs in Germany must undergo the APS short-term exchange review procedure. Students selected for dual-degree programs in Germany must undergo the full APS review.
