International cooperation and exchange are one of the key features and advantages of Tongji SEM. Currently, the School has established partnerships with over 100 renowned universities worldwide. Among these, more than 30 joint double degree programs have been set up with institutions in countries including France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and the United States.
1. Target Applicants:
Currently enrolled students at Tongji SEM (if program extension or similar issues are involved, students shall apply according to relevant regulations of the Graduate School and SEM. All double degree programs for regular master’s students are open to professional degree students as well; once selected, they will normally participate in the regular master’s courses at the partner institution.)
2. Basic Application Requirements:

• Master’s Double Degree Programs: Minimum English requirement is TOEFL 79 or IELTS 6.5. Minimum GPA requirement is 80 (master’s). Specific requirements of each partner university are detailed in the attachment.
3. Dispatch Time:
• Master’s Double Degree Programs: Fall semester 2026 (except for the European Business School and Leipzig Graduate School of Management programs; see the brochure for details).
4. Duration of the Exchange:
• Master’s Double Degree Programs: One year abroad
5. Language of Instruction during Overseas Study or Language at Work:
• Master's Dual Degree Programs: English (The Technical University Berlin offers some courses taught in German)
6. Tuition Fees:
Students are exempt from paying tuition fees at the host university during the period of their overseas exchange (except for some programs in the United States that charge fees. In addition, ESCP currently charges an annual registration fee of 890€ * 3 years for admitted students.). The applicant is responsible for covering other expenses, including international travel, living costs abroad, insurance, visa application fees, and other similar expenses.

• Personal Statement and Study Plan (No fixed format required)
• Copy of Academic Transcripts (Master's students must also provide undergraduate transcripts)
• Proof of English proficiency, such as TOEFL or IELTS results (must be valid).

9. Application Timeline:
1) Master's Double Degree Programs Application
This will be conducted in two batches. The first batch is for Double Degree programs with German institutions and the French ESCP Double Degree program only, due to the need to complete the APS review for Germany and the on-site video interview with ESCP in advance. Therefore, applicants for these programs must submit their application materials earlier. Applicants not selected in the first batch can apply for double degree programs in the second batch, but must resubmit the online application and a new signed hard copy of the application form to the relevant person. If no other application materials have been modified, these do not need to be resubmitted. Details are as follows:

Note:
• Online applications must be completed before the deadline. Students who have completed their online application but fail to submit hard copy materials by the deadline may submit these (including English language test results) up to one week late. Applications submitted after this extended deadline will be invalid. When competing for places at the same institution, applicants who submit materials after the deadline will be considered after regular applicants.
10. Selection and Dispatch Procedures:
• Master’s Double Degree Programs: Voluntary application → Preliminary review and selection by the Office of International Cooperation and Accreditation (for ESCP programs, an additional video interview by the partner institution is required) → Announcement of preliminary admission list → Nomination by SEM to partner universities → Partner university confirmation → Guidance by partner university for completing partner institution’s formal application → Issuance of official admission letter by partner university → Completion of Tongji’s internal overseas study procedures and visa processing (German programs additionally require APS certification by the Cultural Section of the German Embassy in China) → Departure for study at the partner institution abroad.
