Yunus Tasbasi

Class of 2021

I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Tongji University, one of China's most prestigious institutions, and I am able to directly apply the knowledge and skills I gained to my daily business operations. This provides a significant competitive advantage compared to professionals who have never worked or studied in China and therefore lack a deep, nuanced understanding of the local market, business culture, and consumer behavior. The MGM programme served as a true eye-opener for me. It not only deepened my academic foundation but also bridged the gap between theory and real-world business practice in an international context. I have developed the ability to use the knowledge I acquired as a theoretical foundation for my business in China, and more importantly, to adapt it effectively to local conditions and changing market dynamics. The programme offers an excellent foundation for launching a successful international career, particularly for those who aspire to work between China and the rest of the world. The combination of rigorous academic training at Tongji and the practical, cross-cultural insights from the MGM programme equipped me with a unique set of skills that I continue to leverage on a daily basis. From negotiation strategies to supply chain realities, from guanxi to governance, the programme prepared me for the complexities of doing business in and with China. This experience was not merely academic – it was a strategic asset that differentiates me significantly in today's increasingly competitive and globalized business environment. I would highly recommend the MGM programme to any professional seeking to build a meaningful career at the intersection of China and the world.
